The snow and cold might be sticking around, but it has given our students a lot of fun at recess.
The 4th graders worked together to build a snowman during their recess time! Will this snowman last all winter, or will he melt before Christmas Break?

Last night our 1st and 3rd Graders had their Winter Concert.
So many great voices and songs were heard last night! We have a talented group of performers.
Thanks to Mrs. Davis for getting these students ready for their performance and her dedication to making our music program great for our students.
**2nd and 4th grade will be having their Winter Concert on December 15th**

Preschool students did a Star Search during their Space Study. Students had to walk around the preschool building and find stars with letters on them.
They then colored that letter on their paper. Students love doing interactive activities where they are both playing and learning at the same time!

Sheldon Community Schools will be running a 2-Hour Late start on Monday, December 5.
No AM Preschool.

Kindergarten spent time with some Gingerbread focused activities last week.
In Math, students focused on counting and identifying buttons on their gingerbread man, as well as did a graphing activity on the different colors of buttons the gingerbread men had.
In writing, students wrote about what they would name their gingerbread man, where he/she would live and who he/she would be running from.
At the end of the week students got to go on a scavenger hunt to look for the gingerbread man around East Elementary. Once they found them, they got to frost and decorate them for their snack that day!
Such a fun week in Kindergarten.

2nd Grade had some fun in the snow this week sledding at recess.
Sledding at recess is one of the student's favorite things to do once there is snow on the ground!

In P.E our Kindergarteners have been learning and practicing their dribbling, passing and shooting skills in their basketball unit.
Mr. Fischer has been working on the fundamentals of basketball in P.E over the past few weeks with the Elementary students. It is amazing to see how far our students have come in their dribbling and shooting in just a few short P.E classes!

Did you know that East Elementary is a 1-1 School?
This means that each of our elementary students, K-4 has their own device to use at school for different learning assignments, research and assessments.
Some of the things our students do on their devices allow for teachers to see immediately how the students are performing, teachers can easily tailor work at different levels for specific students, students can each actively engage in the lessons and students are able to learn the valuable computer skills that many of them will need in their future careers.

Preschool students at the Little Orabs Learning Center are currently doing a pumpkin study. They made a pumpkin salt painting using glue, salt, and watercolor paints!
The pumpkin was drawn on the page and students had to put the salt and glue on the lines and then paint the pumpkin. This was not only a good way to help our students see what happens when you mix the glue, salt and paint, but it was also great way for our students to practice their fine motor skills.
Didn't they do a great job?
