Kindergarten is working hard on learning heart words at the end of the year! One fun game they played was Heart Word Name Hunt. Students are given a heart word to be their new name and they have to write all of their classmates new names. A fun way to practice heart words! Battle of the Books! There is a little know contest going on at Sheldon's own East Elementary! It is the Reading Rivalry between Buenger's Bright Buddies and Ney's Nice Notables. Which team will win this race? Who will read the most books in the final stretch of the year? When the dust settles and our books are tallied, we know we will all win! Readers are leaders! (1B has read 1,931 books and 1A has read 1,929 books) Way to go 1st grade! *message written by East Elementary's Adopt a Grandma, Shannon* #LeadOn #orabs #sheldonorabs #orabs #reading #leaders #reader #books #battleofthebooks

The kids in Mrs. Vogel's class have started a Brew Buggy at the Middle School. They offer hot drinks and breakfast bars to the teachers and 7th/8th grade students on Monday and Friday mornings. The kids love counting the money collected during math time and they like to figure out how to use the money to buy more supplies! *Image created by Sheldon High School Mass Media Student, Alivia Baker* #LeadOn #orabs #sheldonorabs #sheldon #coffee #breakfast

We are proud to share that our very own Sheldon High School students had the incredible opportunity to participate in the 2024 Central Space Design Competition held in Houston, Texas! Hosted by InSimEd and located at the prestigious Johnson Space Center at the Gilruth Center facility, this competition was nothing short of extraordinary. Twenty schools from Iowa, including Sheldon, traveled to Houston, organized by NWAEA. With approximately 140 students from across Iowa and Texas, our Sheldon students delved into a simulation game set in the future. On the first day, they were treated to a captivating keynote speech and engaged in a Moon Quiz, setting the stage for an enriching experience. Anita Gale's introduction to the competition sparked enthusiasm, and students wasted no time diving into their roles within their respective companies. Let's give a huge shoutout to our talented Sheldon team members: šŸŒŸ Rachel Besaw - Human Engineering šŸŒŸ Emma Boone - Marketing/Sales and Human Engineering šŸŒŸ Gage Haan - Automation Engineering šŸŒŸ Abigail Otto - Human Engineering šŸŒŸ Eric Van Maanen - Automation Engineering Their dedication, teamwork, and passion for space exploration truly shone throughout the competition. #LeadOn #orabs #sheldonorabs #sheldon #nasa #space #stem
