It was a great night to show the community the newest addition to the Sheldon Community School District at The Little Orab Learning Center Open House. We are excited to starts classes with our "Little Orabs" on Tuesday, September 6.

Tuesday was presentation day for our CAPS Program. Rebekah Armstrong from Life Serve Blood Center had challenged our associates to come up with ways to increase blood donation by younger volunteers and diverse populations. The teams then had to present their solutions to a panel for feedback and possible next steps or partnerships. Thank you to our panel who provided feedback to the associates from the Sheldon, MOC-FV and Sioux Center CAPS teams on their pitches. #LEADON

The 6th graders at Sheldon Middle School participated in a STEM challenge in Mrs. Van Meeteren's classroom. The students had to design and build a device that could launch puff balls the farthest. Our students came up with some effective and creative devices!

Our High School Peer P.E Class has had a fun week getting out and about. Monday they went to play on the new turf field and today they spent class improving their bowling skills. We have some amazing students that show great leadership in this Peer P.E class. #LEADON

Students at East Elementary are learning about how to be an ORAB. Up first, "ORABS are ORGANIZED". Students in 4th grade are working on getting organized by filling out their daily planners to keep track of daily assignments for each of the classes they rotate to. #LEADON

The first official game took place tonight on the new turf field. Our 9th and JV football teams got to be the first team on the newest project completion for SCSD. This is a great addition for the many activities and programs that will use this field in the future.

The Open House for the new Little Orabs Learning Center is coming up soon. Come this Wednesday night, August 31 from 5:30-7:00 PM and see the newest addition to the Sheldon Community School District. Open to the public.

The High School welcomed back their students today with a back to school assembly followed by activities in the gym. It was great to see our students and teachers back in the hallways having fun together. Here's to a great start at SHS!

Our Middle School welcomed back their students today with many fun activities to get the year started. The whole school gathered for the raising of the flag to start the day. The day also included a back to school assembly and specific grade level activities. A fun start to the year at the Middle School!

What a great first day of school at East Elementary. Lots of smiles, high fives and excitement as our students came back into the building. This is going to be a great year!
