1st grade students put their musical listening ears to the test and played, "Mystery Instrument" in music class. Mrs. Davis played a variety of hidden instruments and the students had to see if they could guess the correct instrument that was being played.

2nd graders focus some time each month for Ag in the Classroom. This month students learned more about what is needed to grow different types of crops. The students then did some acting and show their classmates what beans need to grow!

Kindergarten practiced sorting, counting, and their graphing skills with different colors of jelly beans! The students even practiced some addition with combining different color groups.

During art, the 2nd graders used watercolor crayons to decorate an Easter egg. Then the students painted over the design with water to create a beautiful Easter egg.

These 2nd grade students are using mini marker boards to segment words. This helpful for our students to see the different parts that a word has and then helps them when they read the word.
East Elementary uses the curriculum Really Great Reading as part of their daily reading instruction. Really Great Reading helps our teachers teach the foundational skills that our students will need to be great readers.

Students in 1st and 3rd grade meet each week to read and do different learning activities with their "buddies". This week the students got to work together to be the author of their own story, "If You Give a Buddy a Cookie".
The students worked on writing their stories while enjoying a treat of chocolate milk and cookies. Thank you to Kiwk Star for the donation of the chocolate milk. Our students enjoyed it!

Students in 3rd grade have been studying famous people of the past. As part of their study, students performed a play for the 2nd graders about some of the people they studied.
This group of students performed a play about Clara Barton, an American nurse who founded the American Red Cross.
