Mrs. Sandbulte and Mrs. Dykstra's classes were able to celebrate all their learning this school year through camping and dinosaur day!
During camping day the students used their reading skill to play charades, math skills to measure and make s'mores snack mix, addition facts bump and ten more/ten less race to 120.
At dinosaur day the students read for information to get the dinosaurs in the correct groups, used their numeracy skills of one more/one less to get the sick triceratops home safely and their sentence building skills to fix the broken down jeep! Way to work hard first graders!

Teachers & staff members at East Elementary wore clothing to show their college alma maters or institutions they're currently attending. They also had posters outside their classrooms showing degrees they've received. This day helps spark conversations between staff & students as they finish up their Guidance units on Careers & Education.

Kindergarten is working hard on learning heart words at the end of the year!
One fun game they played was Heart Word Name Hunt.
Students are given a heart word to be their new name and they have to write all of their classmates new names.
A fun way to practice heart words!
Great work Kindergarten!

Battle of the Books!
There is a little know contest going on at Sheldon's own East Elementary!
It is the Reading Rivalry between Buenger's Bright Buddies and Ney's Nice Notables. Which team will win this race?
Who will read the most books in the final stretch of the year?
When the dust settles and our books are tallied, we know we will all win!
Readers are leaders!
(1B has read 1,931 books and 1A has read 1,929 books)
Way to go 1st grade!

Math is even sweeter with candy!
Kindergarten students at East Elementary practiced their math skills with jelly beans. They had to sort, count, and then graph their jellybeans.
Finally they got to eat them!
