We are proud to share that our very own Sheldon High School students had the incredible opportunity to participate in the 2024 Central Space Design Competition held in Houston, Texas!
Hosted by InSimEd and located at the prestigious Johnson Space Center at the Gilruth Center facility, this competition was nothing short of extraordinary.
Twenty schools from Iowa, including Sheldon, traveled to Houston, organized by NWAEA.
With approximately 140 students from across Iowa and Texas, our Sheldon students delved into a simulation game set in the future.
On the first day, they were treated to a captivating keynote speech and engaged in a Moon Quiz, setting the stage for an enriching experience. Anita Gale's introduction to the competition sparked enthusiasm, and students wasted no time diving into their roles within their respective companies.
Let's give a huge shoutout to our talented Sheldon team members:
🌟 Rachel Besaw - Human Engineering
🌟 Emma Boone - Marketing/Sales and Human Engineering
🌟 Gage Haan - Automation Engineering
🌟 Abigail Otto - Human Engineering
🌟 Eric Van Maanen - Automation Engineering
Their dedication, teamwork, and passion for space exploration truly shone throughout the competition.

Math is even sweeter with candy!
Kindergarten students at East Elementary practiced their math skills with jelly beans. They had to sort, count, and then graph their jellybeans.
Finally they got to eat them!
