Mrs. Jansen's third graders shared their extreme weather research projects with Mrs. Ney's first grade class. This was a great opportunity for our students to share their research with others and for the younger students to learn more about extreme weather.
Great job third grade!

5th graders were able to practice their coding skills with the Ozobots. The Ozobot follows lines drawn on white paper. Colors drawn in different sequences tell the Ozobot what to do. Our students had a great time creating their own codes for the Ozobots.
Great work 5th grade!

Student in Biology are learning about cellular respiration, which is the breakdown of food, specifically glucose, to make chemical energy for our cells. In this lab, students are testing their carbon dioxide output, breath rate, and heart rate. Students were able to test how much carbon dioxide is removed by breathing into a pH indicator that changed colors based on the acidity from the carbon dioxide. The quicker the change in color, the more carbon dioxide that was removed and thus the more cellular respiration that occurred.

Do you know how to calculate the density of a liquid? (Density = mass/volume)
The sixth grade science students first learned how to find the mass of a liquid so they then could calculate the density of the liquid. After all calculations were complete, they poured the liquids into a beaker and checked to see if the way the liquids layered matched their calculations.
They did! Excellent calculations!
