Congratulations to Mrs. Stephanie Pritts on being named the 2026 Iowa Department of Education Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Pritts currently serves as an instructional coach at Sheldon Community School District and brings 23 years of dedication and excellence to the field of education. Throughout her career, she has primarily taught first and third grades, making a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues through her passion for learning and leadership.

Sheldon Middle School is celebrating Red Ribbon Week with a series of fun dress-up days!

Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school!

This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up next week!
We encourage parents and guardians to attend, ask questions, and learn more about how we can continue supporting every student’s success. We look forward to seeing you there!

Today marks the end of the first quarter, and what an amazing start it’s been to the school year! Students, staff, and families have all contributed to a successful beginning filled with hard work, growth, and school spirit. Let’s keep the momentum going—finish strong and continue making Orab Nation proud!

Sheldon Middle School students had a great time working on a creative paper mâché art project as part of their leadership class. This hands-on activity encouraged teamwork, patience, and creativity as students designed and built their unique pieces.

It's National School Bus Safety Week! This year's theme is "Safe Stops. Stronger Communities," and it focuses on the importance of safety for students in and around school buses. This week, students will take part in bus evacuation drills. Be sure to ask your child what they learned!
