Preschool had some surprise visitors this week from the Dental Office in Sheldon. Two dental hygienists came to teach our students all about taking care of their teeth. Students got to learn about foods that are good and bad for their teeth as well as practice brushing their teeth. Thank you to The Dental Office in Sheldon for the visit! #Sheldon #dentalcare #densit #preschool #health #LeadOn #Orabs #sheldon

The 8th Graders spent some time this week helping the 6th graders with the beginning stages of research for Night of the Notables. Night of the Notables is an annual 6th grade event. The 6th grade students research notable people in history and write a paper. They then turn their paper into a speech. On April 11, they will present it to the community like a wax museum. Every time someone gives them a quarter they say share their information. This is also a fundraiser for their 6th grade field trip. #LeadOn #Orabs #Sheldon

Today is National Read Aloud Day! The High School Library Club visited East Elementary to celebrate and read aloud to each classroom. Tonight would be a great night to sit with your child and read aloud to them. Reading aloud is one of the most important things parents and teachers can do with children. Reading aloud introduces vocabulary, shows students how to read fluently, allows students to hear expressive reading, and helps children recognize what reading for pleasure is all about! #nationalreadaloudday #orabs #sheldon #orabs #sheldonorabs #reading #readaloud #books

Middle School art students are working on their surrealist bedroom paintings. Surrealism art aims to revolutionize the human experience. It balances a rational vision of life with one that asserts the power of dreams. Our students have been doing such a great job with this project. We are excited to see their finished products! #LeadOn #Orabs #Sheldon #art

Our Kindergarteners are loving their Bee-Bots. Bee-Bots are a perfect starting point for teaching control, directional language, and programming for our Kindergarteners at East Elementary. Students have been learning how to work with the Bee-Bots throughout the year and are already learning how to program the Bee-Bots in more complicated ways. Way to go Kindergarten! #LeadOn #Orabs #Sheldon

East Elementary students got to enjoy some fun activities of their choice after learning more about Habit 7 from the book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People." Habit 7 talks about Sharping the Saw, which means preserving and enhancing the greatest asset you have—you! It means having a balanced program for self-renewal in the four areas of your life: physical, social/emotional, mental, and spiritual. Our students got to practice Sharpening the Saw, by taking some time to do some activities that they enjoy and have some fun with their friends. Each classroom had a different activity that the kids could pick from. Some of the activities included Legos, free drawing, playdough, board games, puzzles, darts, and more! It was so fun to see our students get to Sharpen their Saw and enjoy some fun activities of their choice! #LeadOn #Orabs #Sheldon #7habitsofhighlyeffectivepeople

Mrs. Buenger's 1st graders made some winter snowmen during their art class. The students did so well with this very large art project. It's safe to say that the students could make a real snowman outside, just as big or bigger with all the snow that we have had this year! If you drive by East Elementary, you can see these snowmen waving to your from the window! #LeadOn #Orabs #Sheldon #snowman #winter #art
