Sheldon’s East Elementary School will be having a celebration in honor of being named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. In an attempt to celebrate this prestigious recognition with our community, we will have a “Bus Parade” on Friday, October 6 at 1:30 p.m. We will fill eleven school buses with students and staff, and travel along the parade route shown below. We invite our community to participate by waving and cheering for students and staff as the buses pass by. The parade will start by heading west from East Elementary, and conclude by going around the middle school and high school buildings. Please join the celebration on Friday, October 6 at 1:30 p.m. for the Bus Parade! #LeadOn #orabs #sheldonorabs #blueribbonschool #parade

On Wednesday, 4th grade science had “shark day”. The 4th graders got an opportunity to learn about sharks and how shark’s use their senses. 4th graders were able to explore the shark's senses with a Webquest, watch some cool shark videos, and they got to color some shark pictures to round the day off. #LeadOn #orabs #sheldonorabs #sharks #science

The 6th graders were able to test their survival skills! 6th grade students are reading the book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. Matt Jurgens, with Osceola County Conservation, came to give the students some real experience with things that are happening in the book. Mr. Jurgens had three Survival Skill stations for the kids to try, cord making, atlatl throwing, and fire starting. #LeadON #orabs #sheldonorabs #sheldonmiddleschool #reading
