Did you know that East Elementary is a 1-1 School? This means that each of our elementary students, K-4 has their own device to use at school for different learning assignments, research and assessments. Some of the things our students do on their devices allow for teachers to see immediately how the students are performing, teachers can easily tailor work at different levels for specific students, students can each actively engage in the lessons and students are able to learn the valuable computer skills that many of them will need in their future careers. #LeadOn #Orabs #technology

Preschool students at the Little Orabs Learning Center are currently doing a pumpkin study. They made a pumpkin salt painting using glue, salt, and watercolor paints! The pumpkin was drawn on the page and students had to put the salt and glue on the lines and then paint the pumpkin. This was not only a good way to help our students see what happens when you mix the glue, salt and paint, but it was also great way for our students to practice their fine motor skills. Didn't they do a great job? #Orabs #LeadOn #Preschoolactivity

7th and 8th graders attend class daily in the technology lab. These students are currently learning how to build a robot that moves. Throughout the year students rotate to different "Expeditions" to learn more about that specific content area. At the "Expeditions" students participate in hands on learning, building, testing and more. Some of the Expeditions that students rotate to include: Rolling Robots, Optical Solutions, Flight Dynamics, Design Time, Communication, Tower Power, Thermal Physics and more. This is an awesome opportunity for our students to learn more about different content areas that they otherwise might not be exposed to and could potentially lead to some future career interests. #LeadOn #Orabs #Technology #STEM

5th grade students in Ms. Nordahl's Science Class are learning about the four spheres of the Earth. Students have learned about the biosphere, geosphere and today the students dived into learning more about the hydrosphere. As an introduction to learning more about the hydrosphere, students worked in groups and traveled around the room to different learning stations. At each station they had to scan a QR code to bring up a video that would give more information about the hydrosphere. Students were responsible for recording information they learned about the hydrosphere as they traveled to each station. This was a great way to put the learning in the students hands and see what pieces of information they thought were important as they learned more about the hydrosphere today. #LeadOn #Orabs #technology #science

8th grade students have been learning about the Revolutionary War in History Class. As a cumulation assignment for the unit, students were given some of the historical events, important individuals involved and battles that happened during that time and were asked to create a timeline and organize the events, along with the people associated with those events. This was a great way for students to organize all of the information from the unit and review for their test coming up. #orabs #LeadOn #history
