"Other Scholarships" are scholarships that are outside of our school district and area. The scholarships listed below may be National scholarships, scholarships offered to students who live in Iowa, and miscellaneous scholarships."

If you need a transcript for a scholarship application, please submit the online Transcript Request Form . If you would like to pick up your transcript from the Guidance Office, check the box, OR you can request a copy to be emailed to you.

Tip for resumes: If you are involved in an activity such as FFA, don't just list your position in the organization, but also list the activities and the number of service hours you have put in with the organization. MOST scholarships are based on Community Service Hours.

RAISEME

Future Ready Iowa - Last-Dollar Scholarship

If you plan to earn a certificate, diploma or associate's degree to work in one of Iowa's high demand jobs, your tuition may be covered. If all other available state and federal financial aid falls short, the Future Ready Iowa Last-Dollar Scholarship will fill the gap.

You can use the Last-Dollar Scholarship at community colleges or accredited private colleges in Iowa that offer eligible programs of study. The list of programs is based on job demand and might change from year to year.

Prevention Magazine / No deadline. Essay submissions are accepted all year.

To qualify to win a $500 scholarship all you have to do is write an essay (600-800) words double spaced about a personal encounter you or someone you know has had with abuse. It can be drugs/alcohol, mental or physical abuse. Scholarships are judged on your thesis statement, supporting content, grammar and punctuation. Women's Fairway Scholarship (Golf)/September 10, 2025 deadline

The Iowa PGA Section Foundation annually awards one Women's Fairway Scholarship to assist females in furthering their education and training toward a career in golf. Scholarship winners are selected based on their experience and activity in golf, their future golf career goal to attain PGA membership, leadership skills and financial need. Max Shields, PGA - Iowa Section Scholarship / September 10, 2025 deadline

The Iowa PGA Section Foundation annually awards a scholarship to support individuals in furthering their education and career in the golf industry, which includes but is not limited to the PGA Profession, Agronomy, Club Management, Hospitality and Membership. At least one scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $2,000.

P.E.O. STAR SCHOLARSHIP / Deadline to submit your application is September 13.

The P.E.O. STAR SCHOLARSHIP is a non-renewable $2,500 scholarship for women who excel in leadership, academics (minimum 3.0 GPA), extra-curricular activities and community service.  To apply for this scholarship, a student must be recommended by a local P.E.O. Grand Lodge of Iowa - Scholarship Program/February 1, 2025

The Grand Lodge of Iowa, announces their statewide scholarship program for the 2024-25 academic school year. Twenty-five (25) scholarships, (15- $5,000 scholarships and 10 - $2500 scholarships) will be awarded to the seniors of the graduating Class of 2025.

Seniors must plan on pursuing a 4-year degree. Scholarships may be used on tuition, fees, and books. Your academic record, communication skills, need for financial assistance and the recommendation/evaluation of the applicant by a school official, will all be considered by the selection committee.

You do not need to have a Masonic connection to apply for this scholarship.

2025 SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS (SWCD) / DEADLINE: February 7, 2025

Conservation Districts of Iowa are partnering with local Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCD) to foster the higher education endeavors of Iowa students interested in conservation and agriculture by offering scholarships. Iowa High School Class of 2025 seniors pursuing programs of study in any field of conservation or agriculture qualifies for the Conservation Scholarship. Scholarship awards range from $500-$3,000.

NORTH WEST REC & BASIN ELECTRIC POWER COOPERATIVE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM / DEADLINE: Friday, February 14, 2025

Scholarship applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, a dependent of a current North West REC member, a senior in high school in the service area for the 2024-25 school year and plan to enroll in an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school.

There will be two (2) $1,000 scholarship winners from each of the four districts of North West REC (Ida, O'Brien, Plymouth and Sioux Counties). The selection process for the $1,000 scholarship winners will be based on the combination of ACT/SAT scores, overall gpa, work experience, participation in school and community activities, a personal statement of career goals, and a written reference or appraisal by a third party (Principal, Counselor, Teacher, Employer). In addition, there will be several $500 and $250 scholarships awarded to applicants.

Foundation for Rural Service / Deadline: February 14, 2025

FRS annually awards scholarships to rural students for your first year of a 2-year or 4-year college or vocational school. All applicants require sponsorship by an NTCA (Rural Broadband Association) member company to be eligible (Premier Communications, in Hospers is a member).

The value of the scholarships range from $500 - 9,000, based on a variety of criteria. One application qualifies a student for all available FRS scholarships.

Required: The application, including a statement expressing an interest in returning to a rural community following graduation. The use of AI is not permitted.

Hispanic Scholars Fund (HSF) / Opens: January 1. Deadline to apply: February 15, 2025

As an HSF Scholar, you will have access to HSF’s invaluable Scholar Support Services and be eligible to receive a scholarship, depending on available funds. Scholarships range from $500-$5,000 based on need.

Elgibility:

  • You must be of Hispanic Heritage, U.S. Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident or DACA.

  • Minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 High School gpa.

  • Plan to enroll Full-Time in an accredited 4-Year College or University for 2025-26.

  • Have a submitted FAFSA application.

The Bright Schol­ars of Iowa Award is a need- and mer­it-based grant designed to help ensure that a select­ed num­ber of out­stand­ing Iowa high school seniors have the finan­cial means to com­plete a two-year or four-year col­lege edu­ca­tion with­out debt. Call to Action Foundation / Deadline: February 21, 2025

The Call to Action Scholarship Program offers eligible students assistance so they can achieve their academic goals. This need-based scholarship, funds the full cost of attendance for four years ($25,000 maximum annually) at non-profit, regionally accredited public universities and colleges in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Nevada and Utah.

In addition to financial aid, Scholars receive access to mentorship, academic counseling, leadership development, and personal and professional support.

Eligibility:

  • Be a graduating high school senior

  • Be a resident of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Nevada, and Utah and meet all in-state residency requirements for college of attendance.

  • Have a 3.0 or higher, GPA

Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation - IADA Scholarship / Deadline: March 1

The Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education will award up to fifteen (15) scholarships of $3,000 each to selected students this spring.

The scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing automotive related studies, including auto, collision, or diesel technology, sales, accounting, marketing or business administration. Scholarships can be used for tuition or to purchase tools necessary for technicians.

Requirements:

Ducks Unlimited /Iowa Grumpy Goldeneyes Scholarship Program (Conservation Scholarship) / March 1, 2025

Last year, Ducks Unlimited (DU) awarded 61 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are members of DU. This scholarship is open to all high school senior members; however, it is targetd to volunteers who have shown an exceptional level of commitment to wetlands conservation through participation in their DU Varsity (high school) club/chapter and/or local DU community chapter. In addition, students must maintain a 2.8 or higher cumulative gpa.

Applicants should provide:

  • A copy of your high school transcript

  • DU member/involvement history

  • A list of any service or academic awards received

  • up to three (3) letters of recommendation highlighting your DU involvement and commitment to conservation.

Horatio Alger Association - Scholarships for High School Seniors / Deadline: March 1

There are several scholarship listings based on which 4-year college you plan to attend. (USD, SDSU, USF, and others.) Horatio Alger Scholarships are intended for promising students who have critical financial need (Family Adjusted Gross income of $65,000 or less) , demonstrate integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and are determined to succeed.

Patricia Cole Scholarship (Seniors)

Twelve (12) Scholarships of $12,500 each will be awarded nationwide. This scholarship is for students planning to major in Business and STEM majors at an accredited non-profit public or private 4-year institution. You must demonstrate financial need (family adjusted gross income of $65,000 or lower). Demonstrate integrity and perseverance in adversity, maintain a gpa of 2.50, be a U.S. citizen.

Horatio Alger Scholarships Seniors

Horatio Alger Association - Scholarships for High School Juniors / Deadline: March 1

National Scholarship Program

One hundred five scholarships (105) of $25,000 will be awarded to high school juniors who can demonstrate financial need and integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity. Students must have a minimum gpa of 2.00. A list of involvement in curricular & co-curricular activities is also part of the application process.

State of Iowa Scholarship Program

Five (5) Scholarships Awards of $10,000 each will be awarded to high school Juniors in Iowa. Students must display a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree at a non-profit accredited public or private institution in the United States after high school graduation. (Students may start their education at a 2-Year college and then transfer to a 4-year college.)

  • You must be able to demonstrate financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required).

  • Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities

Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship / Deadline: March 3, 2025

Pearl Hull Falk's husband was a prominent banker in Iowa City in the early 1900's. The trust was established to provide annual scholarships to needy and worthy students.

Each recipient of the Pearl Hull Falk $5,000 Scholarship must be:

  • of a Protestant Faith

  • a resident of the State of Iowa

  • a full-time student at the University of Iowa

At least one of the recipients must be a member of an Episcopal Church, and at least one must be a young man who shows interest in and promise of a career in banking. All recipients must be of good character and have a good scholastic record.

Applications and supporting materials must be received or postmarked by March 3, 2025.

The Charles Nicolay Educational Foundation was set up to support Iowa students continuing their education in the Construction/Architecture/Engineering field. Requirements:

The Associated General Contractors of Iowa (AGC Iowa) are offering a Construction Scholarship, for high school seniors, interested in Heavy Equipment Operation, Engineering Technician, or general construction programs at community colleges. The Associated General Contractors of Iowa (AGC Iowa) are offering scholarships to high school seniors for diesel technicians/mechanics. Graduating high school seniors planning to enter diesel technician or diesel engine diploma programs at community colleges across the state are encouraged to apply.
