The Life Skills students have been learning more about mental health, how to improve their mental health, and what to do if you feel like you need help. The students had a guest speaker come to class to talk more about the Student Assistance Program (SAP).
SAP partners with a variety of school districts to provide support to students. The Student Assistance Program is free and designed for assessment, brief counseling and referral. Counselors help explore issues, offer coping skills, as well as recommendations referrals for services outside of the SAP sessions.
Thank you to our guest speaker, Steve Arneson for your information and presentation!

Contemporary Writing students have been working on writing formal business letters and emails. Mrs. Wolf gives the students a real life scenario and they need to write a letter or email that responds to the scenario. This is great real life practice for our students as they prepare to enter the workforce.

In High School Chemistry, students observed what happens to the temperature of water during the phase changes from a solid to a liquid to a gas.
They collected temperature data every minute for about 20 minutes while heat energy was constantly being added to the system.
Students then graphed their data, identified the different variables of the experiment, and gave a reasoning to the results they obtained.
Great work Chemistry students!

Quickwrites are done twice a week in English 10 at the High School. Students write about different topics during this time in a variety of different writing styles throughout the year.
The length of each Quickwrite gets longer throughout the year to increase their writing stamina. They also have specific revision time to work on continually making their writing better!
